Medical Science Liaison (Houston, TX/Full Time)

Fidia Pharma USA Inc. is looking for an experienced Medical Science liaison (MSL), part-time consultant, based in Chicago, IL to join our growing Medical Affairs team!

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be a Fidia Pharma USA Inc., field-based medical/scientific professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area of expertise, responsible for providing medical and scientific support for Fidia Pharma USA Inc. products and Medical Affairs activities. The MSL will be responsible to engage in accurate scientific exchange with medical and scientific experts, including Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers consistent with Medical Affairs objectives.

Major Areas of Responsibility and Objectives

  • Develop and foster peer-level, professional scientific relationships with medical, scientific, and key therapeutic experts, including but not limited to Healthcare Professionals (Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, PA’s, etc.) and Managed Markets Customers consistent with Medical Affairs objectives.
  • Provide actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of Fidia products
  • Serve as a primary field Medical Affairs contact in order to provide accurate and appropriate clinical/scientific information exchanges about Fidia products.
  • Provide clinical support and deliver data presentations regionally and nationally at Fidia sponsored meetings and seminars
  • Identify opportunities and conduct formal presentations to essential groups as requested by medical and technical healthcare professionals, including key accounts, hospital therapeutic committee members, along with presentations of pharmacoeconomic data in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, regulatory guidelines and ethical standards.
  • Identify and accurately present Investigator Initiated Study proposals for internal Fidia review and support consideration.
  • Provide timely responses to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of Fidia products and services
  • Identify study investigators in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives
  • Participate in as well as lead scientific advisory boards and provide advisory board content development support
  • Provide Medical Affairs booth support at National and Regional level conferences and congress meetings.
  • Develop medical education materials such as slide kits, monographs, etc.
  • Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements

Education and Experience

  • Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine – (Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D.) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5-7 year’s experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) STRONGLY PREFERRED. Strong Medical Affairs experience may be considered. Orthopedic, Musculoskeletal, Rheumatologic, Sports Medicine, Medical Device experience/background STRONGLY PREFERRED.
  • Established track record of basic or clinical research

Physical Demands
This position requires the employee to routinely use a computer and telephone. Employee will also be required to travel by plane and automobile for business purposes.

Work Environment
General office environment; regular travel to key accounts via car and plane
